About us

Your creative space for boundless creativity

Back in 2020 when the world was shutting down due to the virus ‘that-we-must-not-mention’ we were born. Two creatives from the events industry realised that the world was going to be very different.

We both come from a production and events background, having spent a lot of our career either putting up lights, programming lights, building trusses, putting lights in boxes, changing lamps etc (Charlie); or talking to customers about having amazing lights (Richard). It’s no secret to the world that unfortunately the coro****us (I don’t think I want to write that word) has caused some pretty substantial damage to the events industry, and when we’re writing this in October, there is no sign of letting up. This meant we had to think up a new plan….Neon Six Four has entered the chat.

We started building, (with very little DIY experience! – Well we had help from some of our amazing other production colleagues, Jez and Dave) the amazing space you see today. It was hard work, long days, LOTS of fast food, breakfast van baguettes and quite a lot of coffee and tea. But we are so proud of the space we’ve created for you!

Why Neon Six Four?

Funny thing — Neon Six Four wasn’t the original name. We started with something else (due to an email from another company with a very similar name!), but when we had to change it, this one came naturally. And honestly, it ended up being so much more us.

Charlie says “Neon comes from my love of all things lighting — especially neon signs. There’s something about the glow, the mood, the creative energy it gives off. It felt like the perfect symbol for what we’re about. You will see alot of my collection around the space (making for some cool photo ops!)

“Six Four” is for my dad — born in 1964. He was a songwriter and a creative just like me, and we lost him to cancer ten years ago. Naming this after him just made sense. It’s my way of honouring where I come from while building something new.”

In the end, the name change wasn’t a setback — it was the spark that brought everything together.
